Takoma Park's entire tree plan needs to be reviewed. The inability to remove dangerously large trees from residential properties that would have "catastrophic results" (quote from Takoma Park Arborist) if they fell, is ridiculous.

Takoma Park should review the implementation of its tree laws and reconsider parts of the laws that penalize and charge citizens who are removing a tree that is unsafe. Citizens should not pay a tree tax for removing an unsafe tree that the arborist decides does not meet his standard of a hazard.

It cost us more than $5000 to protect our trees during an already expensive build. Felt like we were stuck in a system that was overwhelmingly in favor not of the trees but of the pockets of the landscaping companies.
