This should be a municipal golf course. The owner should be forced to sell.

Grew up in the park. So sad to see the golf course being used as a garden, the rest over grown.

It would be nice to see the course open and being used. It's a beautiful spot and so many locals used to go there.

I would love for this golf course to be reopened I have spent a lot of hours on this course and it is where I learned to play golf and also meet some very wonderful friends.

I golf all over and have heard from many golfers how much they miss this course. It also would bring a lot of revenue to the area as well.

It’s time for local government here to start doing more to protect the things that make our town unique. The village for example has done nothing to hold the owner of the Five and Dime accountable after receiving grant money to renovate and open the Five and Dine. After a childish spat with the chef, the owner shut it down and now a heavily state grant funded business sits empty with no signs of life any time soon. This was meant to help our local economy. This owner has been allowed to get away with this at the detriment of the community and now the same seems to be happening with the owner of this golf course in Northampton. The town and village need to start showing more commitment to preserving this community and the things that make it unique, attracting our tourism lifeline.

It would be such an asset to return this to a golf course!

The golf course is an important heel in the crown of Sacandaga. It enriches the community and surrounding area. Leaving only a small footprint,it makes a beautiful alternate destination for people choosing to recreate on shore. This draws significant support for inns, rentals and restaurants, even after the water has dropped for the season. I think it would be a mistake to let the owners commitment lapse in favor of real estate development for the reason that once an asset like a golf course goes,it can never be regained. It would be much more favorable to restore and improve the existing facility which could only boost not only local property values, but support local businesses. As a cross country ski center it could be an asset during all four seasons.
