Speciesism is the presumption that human beings are superior to all other life forms and therefore can be captured, and kept in captivity to use as attractions to make profit. Lack of empathy towards wild animal species on behalf of humans has created a platform for capitalist greed to quantify as well as justify the bondage of animal species on grounds of human superiority.
Keeping wild animals in bondage is not only highly immoral, but also potentially leads to unnecessary, and dangerous interaction between human and animal. Also, for many animal species, capturing them from the wild is harmful to the ecosystem that is the animals natural habitat.
