Tighter regulations for Kentucky commercial fishing

We need to protect the trophy catfish nationwide.

These people will net right in front of you and only care about money not the sport

Here in Owensboro it's a big problem. With not only the trophy fish but all catfish are targeted. F and F pay lakes are absolutely raping the area rivers with hoop nets. Long lines and gil nets. It's absolutely disgusting.

Stop the over harvesting of trophy sized catfish in Kentucky waters.

The catfish needs more protection. The trophy fish have declined to a point that our state record will never be broken. The fish don't stay in our river long enough to have a chance to grow. Stop the transportation of live fish and the Ohio River will once again be a top five fisherie for trophy catfishing. Would love for my Grandkids to experience the thrill of catching a trophy in the future. Please help us save our River from over harvest and the transporting of our fish to Paylakes. These are wild fish and a resource that needs protecting from commercial fishing , over harvest, and Paylakes.

As a resident of Sourthern Illinois and sportsman fisherman that practices catch and release I feel this is important so that my children may also have the same if not better resources.

It's needs to be enforced bad......me and my son was fishing at angel mounds boat ramp and a commercial fisherman pulled up beside us and my son ask to see his fish in the live well and he wouldn't let him but told him he had several catfish in the 70 lb range.....he also told us he fishes for sturgeon in the ohio river.....I went on about my business acting like I didn't know anything about what he was talking about just to let my 7 yr old son hear his stories.......it's a shame......bc when my son is 16 yrs old and can go fishing when he starts driving he will not be able to catch a trophy catfish period.......on the other note he also told my son he keeps everything that gets in his nets......wow what a law bidden citizen he is and don't follow the rules.......they need to be alot more game wardens checking commercial fisherman than checking the rod and reel guys.

I love to fish. I understand there is a market for catfish. With that being said it would seem to me that these commercial fisherman people with all that money could find a better solution the commercial industry 4 catfishing has a lot of money in place could you not build catfish farm ponds and raise your catfish you have all the money you need to do this and leave our trophy fish in the big Waters Lakes big Rivers reservoirs excetera excetera. Let our children catch-and-release these big fish. These big catfish takes years to put that size on them and you put big Nets in the water to yank them out as if it's no big deal I say stop that crazy crap. Build you some Farm ponds people do something different I don't have the answer it's just a suggestion

Let's save the river!

Im discusted to see the impact of what just a few (comercial fishermen) are depeleting the catfishery on the river. It could take a lifetime for it to bounce back. They are removeing fish that take decades to replace & it is not fair to the community of anglers to have no say so & just sit back & watch this happen to fish that should be considered as a sport fish. I wonder if the DNR cares/realizes that something should be done NOW before its too late!

Please stop this travesty of harvesting our trophy catfish for greedy paylakers. Ensure that trophy catfish survive long enough for our children to be able to share the same joy of landing one !

This should be common sense and should be everywhere !!!!!!!!!!!!
