Dennis Tierney was one of my first mentors at UW-Stevens Point and was truly instrumental to my success at UWSP.

Dennis inspired people to achieve greatness. One of the true great leaders this institution has ever had. The man with the "golden tongue".

As a football coach at UWSP for 30 years, Dennis Tierney was the most supportive and influential administrator with respect to one of the top athletic departments in the NCAA D3. Dennis would go on home visits with coaches, single-handed convinced the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars to hold their summer camp on the UWSP campus, and contributed to the success of not only the student-athlete but to all UWSP students. Dennis Tierney is a true Pointer and had a "Hall of Fame" career at UWSP.

Dennis is very deserving of this honor. He was a definite asset to our athletic dept.. As the former head coach of UWSP soccer, I can honestly say his willingness to meet with student-athletes and assist in recruiting efforts was amazing.

Dennis Tierney is what UWSP athletics is all about and should absolutely be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Dennis helped student athletes from the application process through graduation, he cared about each student athlete and helped shape their life. The Pointer Hockey program, their national titles and tournament appearances in the 80s and 90s were directly linked to Dennis and his ability to work with us as student athletes. It is an honor for me to sign this petition and be a part of this nomination.

If anyone could make things happen, it was Dennis. He was an amazing administrator at UWSP, and he did so much for UWSP athletics.

Dennis Tierney had a tremendous influence on my life and I will always be thankful for his guidance. I worked for him in the UWSP Placement Office and had many beneficial conversations. He is truly deserving of being inducted into UWSP Hall of Fame!

I can't think of anyone more deserving then Dennis Tierney. He was instrumental in our basketball success back in the late 70's and early 80's. Let's make it happen.

Dennis is a very deserving candidate for the UWSP Athletic Hall of Fame. During his entire career at UWSP, he worked tirelessly to promote both the university and athletics. He was highly involved in the support of student athletes and coaches.

It is high time for this. Dennis helped so many.

Dennis certainly defines the definition of exceptional contributions to the University. Pointer Athletics would not be where we are today without his contributions and assistance!

Dennis Tierney embodies the high standards expected for a recipient of this prestigious honor.I believe that the Hall of Fame Selection Committee will be hard pressed to find another candidate who’s vast and innovative contributions to UW-Stevens Point Athletics, our University and this community, rival that of Dennis Tierney. It was his foundation on which current Pointer athletics was built.

I fully support putting Dennis into the UWSP Athletic Hall of Fame. Part of his legacy will be reside in UWSP
