We the undersigned citizens of the world ask our leaders to put pressure on the Chinese authorities before the next Olympic Games which are to be held in their country and to demand the following: 1. The immediate release of all political prisoners, 2. A complete and final end to the repression in Tibet, 3. The opening of negotiations, under the aegis of the United Nations, with the Tibetan authorities and with a view to granting their region real autonomy. If such measures are not taken before the opening ceremony, we promise to boycott the broadcasting of the games in the media and to use the time gained in this way to make our voices heard by our leaders through any democratic means at our disposal.
