Would you like to have Thursday off? This petition is to help make that happen! Eid will be on Friday and it is our RIGHT to have Thursday off. We have never had university on Christmas eve and this is the exact same thing. So why does OUR holiday not have the same rights?
Thursday is a holy day. "Arafeh" is known to be the most holy day in Islam and it is only once a year. Arafeh is always one day before Eid Al-Aha and it is a day to fast and worship Allah (even more). It is for this reason all we ask is to have this day off. The university needs to respect our religious beliefs.
