To The Thunder Bay Women’s Hockey Association Senior Board,
Unfortunately, the current two tier system of House and Rec is not working for the players of Thunder Bay Women’s Hockey Association. We feel that the graduated introduction of a three tier system has given us a good idea of what a permanent three tier system would look and feel like. With the constant change in players a three tier system gives everyone the best idea of skill level they’re signing up for. The new system also gives players new to the game of hockey, or players returning after hiatus, somewhere to play against women in similar situations. On the other end of the spectrum, highly skilled players have a division where they will be more comfortable playing against similarly skilled and experienced players. With the properly divided divisions comes a new sense of safety and competition that these players are looking for, paying for.
With a new system comes an adjustment period, as with any other change. We believe that there are solutions to this adjustment which results in a fair and fun three tier system.
As past, current, and potential future players of the Thunder Bay Women’s Hockey Association we the undersigned are urging the league to reverse their current decision, and change it to a full 2018-2019 season in a three tiered system. This will best reflect the changing demographic of the league as well as honour the requests and suggestions of players and team personnel of years past. We can only hope that the board elected to represent us will make the right decision.

I am currently compiling the feedback from your comments to present to the board. Send a direct email to your league representative today and insist that they review these specific arguments for a three tier system. We need them to see that this demand is coming directly from the players on the ice.

The board cannot keep ignoring this growth in support. Text this link to three other players right now and post it on your personal Facebook page to keep the pressure on them. We need to keep this momentum moving until they agree to the meeting.

I have supported this and tried to get this going when on the board, I think it is the only way the league will grow and be enjoyable for everyone playing.
This would make it much easier for new players to join and for those with injuries or who are aging continue to enjoy the game of hockey.
I am in 100% support of a 3 tier system. It is all about player safety for me, after hockey we all still gotta get up and go to work!
As a player in house and a coach in rec I strongly support this request. There are many of us entering our 30s who are not in a position to keep up with the 18-26 year olds coming in, but are still a little too competitive for rec, the middle division is the perfect solution.
Please change to a 3 tier system. I have been wanting to sign up for a few years now and this new system is what i am waiting for.
It's time to get this done! It's clear that the league needs this and it has worked the last couple years during playoffs! Has it not?

3 tir system last year made for balanced games where play went back and forth throughout the game, and made for a more fun experience. It was very discouraging to play a game in the "Recreational Division" when it was 2 Tiers against teams which are obviously far superior and baffles me as to why they would even want to play in a division which is not challenging for them. I fear that going back to the 2 Tier system is going to drive away the very people who have enjoyed playing hockey at an appropriate level for their skill and time in life ie. the 3 Tiers. It would be sad to see these ladies leave hockey because of this, I am one of them !!
