Yes it needs to happen. Watching the deleted scenes from the first Thor made me realize that had they been included in the theatrical cut, or had a Director's cut released, the movie would have been much stronger than it was. Same is the case with TTDW. This time amendments can be made easily.

Since so many scenes/clips were either released in the Dark World previews or leaked otherwise and elsewhere on the internet, it wasn't hard to notice that some of them were missing. In a way, I'm glad that the theatrical release of the film was so obviously lacking because it has created a greater outcry for this Director's Cut than I feel it would have otherwise caused. Without these holes, people may have been more likely to grumble amongst themselves rather than to take action. I'll keep my fingers crossed for that Director's Cut.

I heard that the original movie was supposed to be about 2 1/2 hours long, and that there were a lot more scenes that tell you why Malekith is doing what he's doing.
So while I'm a Loki fangirl, and loved the movie as it was, the directors cut needs to happen. Marvel movies overall need better villains, and with more scenes of Malekith this movie could have that instead of getting bashed all over the internet. Plus I just loved the movie and want it to be longer! Please!!

I NEED THIS SO SO BADLY. I was really hoping for some good character development scenes, especially Loki's, Frigga's, Loki's, Thor's and Loki's (have I mentioned Loki?), but the feeling I got after the movie was one of utter... insufficiency. Of hunger for more. Well, I'm always in for more of Thor and Loki, and if there's a chance to satisfy my needs, I'd gladly take it.

Please give us additional storylines created for the characters. The story of Malekith, and more story between Thor and Loki, more of Odin, Frigga etc. Why give more screentime to characters like Darcy when the dynamics of Asgard's royal family are far more interesting?
