Their is nothing green about wind turbines.
Excavate 10 feet deep 100 feet wide
Set 96,000 pounds of reinforcing steel rebar = 48 tons
53 concrete trucks pour foundations. If each truck can haul 8 cubic yards at 2538 lbs/yard * 53 = 1,076,112 pounds = 538 tons
Move 1,500 cubic yards of soil @ 2,200 lbs per cubic yard = 3.3 million pounds = 1,650 tons
3 blades : each 173 feet long and 27,000 pounds for 81,000 pounds = 40.5 tons
8 truckloads to deliver turbine components
Nacelle: weight 181,000 lbs = 90.5 tons with the generator, gearbox, and rotor shaft
Hub: weight unknown
Base tower height 53 feet 11 inches, weight 97,459 lbs = 48.7 tons
Mid tower height 84 feet 6 inches, weight 115,587 lbs = 57.8 tons
Top tower height 119 feet, weight 104,167 lbs = 52 tons
Final tower height to blade tip when fully extended 442 feet So how is all this material put together to build a wind turbine? Yep, mining - using diesel fuel, blast furnaces energy used to melt these ores and separate them. Limestone for the cement is mined, Steel for the rebar is mined and smelted, then new machines are purchased to make the mining machines. Every thing in a wind turbine uses fossil fuel, then we have the blinking red lights that tear up the night time skies in rural areas. The placement of these turbines on fragile land west of the 100th meridian that never recovers from the traffic.

We agree, Wintur that the images in this video no longer exist. It's very hard to know how much to say, how much to share, and how much to do... when the chasm of knowledge is soooo polarized. If you say anything against turbines, you are branded an extremist. We are finding our way, one step at a time... we are just a bunch of grassroots neighbors trying to do our part! ;) We thank you for chiming in and sharing your thoughts!

Poor choice of promoting wind turbines in your beer commercial. Not only have you distanced yourself from America's farmers..but a whole lot of railroad and coal mine workers..

I agree with the wording of this petition, except the idea that "proper siting" is even feasible with a finite amount of land left to spoil. It's better to build these things as close to civilization as possible instead of industrializing remote areas. What will be left of America's true open space if setbacks keep expanding?
Bird migratory routes often go through "out of sight" locations and bats are actually drawn to turbines. Animals don't know property lines.
Both sides of the wind debate need to admit that economies can't grow indefinitely, be it "green growth" or older industries. That's the real reckoning.

The instant I saw this ad I winced at the green posturing vs. the reality of how much vertical & horizontal space these machines invade. People are being fooled by quaint imagery vs. stark reality.
Investigate industrial wind power and you'll see it's largely a case of blight for naught, except for subsidy recipients. It ruins scenery, kills wildlife, creates unnatural noise and really doesn't reduce CO2 (see Germany's data).
Solar on roofs should take on a much bigger role than wind power.

Ruining lives and taking our money.

Please do not give false advertisement regarding turbines. I DO NOT want them in my backyard. I’m a long-standing fan of Budweiser and related products. You bummed me out tonight.

When the perception of these industrial turbines being good for us becomes reality we all lose. The reality of the situation is the transfer of wealth from tax payers to corporate greed by way of production tax credits. Not only are they not cost effective, but they destroy the beautiful communities that those of us fortunate enough to live in rural America enjoy.

A multimillion dollar company knows the financial realities of wind power. Don't think for a second the rural population isn't aware of it also. Idiodic.. you can keep your wind powered swill.

No more Budweiser in this house until you admit to your thoughtless and grave error in promoting industrial wind in your advert.
