Dear Tottenham Supporter, Progress is necessary, and a new 60,000 seater stadium is excellent news, but must we sell the name On the official Tottenham website chairman Daniel Levy has confirmed that the naming rights for the new stadium are up for sale. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/futureplans/news/naming_rights.html He claims that this is a 'necessary and critical' step for Tottenham to make. I disagree. I want us to move on, but must we have a McDonald's Stadium! I understand the financial implications of such a move, and I certainly wouldn't want us to have to sell any of our current squad to fund the move. However, we threw away ~£40m on the whole Juande Ramos saga so Levy clearly has money to burn... It is also quite clear that the stadium would pay for itself after a few seasons as we are almost doubling the capacity... We have an opportunity to embrace progress without selling the name of our club to a brand that will have no absolutely no interest in the club's history or fans. Have some pride!
