Thousands of people in Sweden do not have access to the healthcare system, only because of the fact that they are asylums seekers or undocumented immigrants. Sweden is, together with Austria, the country in Europe that offers undocumented immigrants the poorest access to healthcare. Severe international criticism, also from the UN, has been directed against Sweden for how the human right to the best conceivable health is handled.

The 31th of may 2011 an official investigation was presented - ”Vård efter behov och på lika villkor; en mänsklig rättighet” SOU 2011:48. The investigation concludes that Sweden should change the legislation in order to accommodate undocumented immigrants and asylum seekers with subsidized healthcare. Even though official investigation should be submitted for comments shortly after they are conducted, yet nothing has happened. People in need of healthcare still suffer every day.

We demmand that the government
submit SOU 2011:48 for comments,
so that we can take the next step
for a more humane legislation.
