I agree with school. I have 2 children that attend OHS and they said how each of their teachers stressed dress code daily the first 1-2 weeks of school. There is no way this child did not know what dress code was. My daughter has had to wear that outfit before. 1/2 the stufents have. They rock it and keep going.

I am so tired of the attention given to this girl and her mother. Whether we agree or disagree with how this situation was handled (Dress Code Violation Uniform), it is pretty simple….there are rules - follow them - or accept the consequences. If you choose not to read the handbook, check the website, review the papers that came home during the first week of school (that both the student and parent are asked to sign regarding dress code), or attended Open House…of which this was all presented again – it is not anyone's fault, but your own. Ignorance of the "law/rules” is not a defense. Teach your child to follow the rules and not expect special treatment – very simple. I support the CCSD and OHS Administration and Faculty. I applaud all those “violators” who have gone before and accepted the consequences without turning it into a media circus. If you do not like the rules, follow the proper chain of command to voice your concerns and propose a resolve. If they are not resolved to your satisfaction – there are other schools you can send your child too!

Oh, BTW, fourth option, virtual school has no dress code as far as I know.

I support the teachers, the school, the district, the dress code and the punishment. Simple...follow the rules...no issue!

There is a time and a place for everyting. A problem with the school should be addressed with the school first. The media is a good resource that should be used only if you have exhausted the proper means of communication first. The teachers and administration at the school go through a lot to educate our kids and they deserve the courtesy of learning about a disagreement face to face not on the news. If we let rule breakers get away with this simply because they disagree with the rules we are setting a dangerous precedent for our kids and our community.

Children need to know that rules are there for a reason. there are a lot of rules and laws i think are pointless but we have to abide by them. i think the dress code outfit is a good idea.

If a change is to be made, I thin the student should sit in the iffice, taking unexcused absences, until clothes can be brought.

As the parents of 3 OHS students we appreciate Oakleaf High School in their successful partnership with helping from our children's characters. They have always shown an approach to educating that is both relevant and well received by most children. It takes a village to raise a child and along with my family and church OHS is part of our village. They have a strong sense of pride in our community and have been successful in engaging my children. They all own a pride for our community and schools that I have never seen in any other school district we have been a part of in the past. Thank you all for what you do!!!!
