The new CPZ in The Quadrant, Roehampton seems to have been very successful for the residents of The Quadrant (comprising Akehurst Street, Nepean Street, Umbria Street & Rodway Road) but as a resident of Roehampton High Street it is now impossible to park anywhere near our house. The vehicles have been displaced from The Quadrant to Roehampton High Street following the introduction of the 1 hour controlled zone. The Council have undertaken to carry out a review of the CPZ in the next couple of months and we would like to see the CPZ extended between Longwood Drive and Treville Street. This would still leave a section of unrestricted parking for the shops in the High Street. However, the Council will not extend the area unless they receive evidence that this this is the wish of a majority of residents. They have suggested that if say a petition was submitted or that they received a significant number of comments then they would give the matter further consideration. There is a strong view amongst many other local residents who adjoin this area that the Controlled Parking Zone should extend to further to include Roehampton Village (Treville Street, Medfield Street & Ponsonby Road). If you have a view on this either way please write to the Council to voice your opinion, or email or phone Tim Shishodia at the Council and voice your views.
