Hello everyone,

This is Steven Durand, manager/drummer of The Pwells.

We are a rock/reggae/blues band from one of the most beautiful towns in the Southern United States, St. Martinville, Louisiana, home of the Pepper Festival.  All members of the band were born and raised in St. Martinivlle and all 3 of our families have strong ties to the history of our hometown. 

For those of you who don't know, our name The Pwells, is a cajun french/creole term that means body hair or pubic hair.  As a result of our name and the style of music we play, we are not able to get on the Pepper Festival and other festivals in the surrounding area.

We're asking all of you to sign our petition to help us try to get on these festivals so we can start bringing other forms of music besides zydeco and country into these festivals.  While we have all the respect in the world for the zydeco and country bands and musicians in our area, we just think it's time that Rock and Roll and the youth of our state get a chance to show what we're all about.

The festivals around here forget about the 14-30 year old demographic, only seeming to care about the young kids and the 40-plus crowd.  But many festival goers are between the ages 14 and 30. 

Thanks to anyone who signs our petition and we appreciate all the support everyone has given The Pwells since we first started our musical journey.  Hopefully we'll see you all at the Pepper Festival in beautiful St. Martinville, Louisiana!!
