They actually withdrew the proposal and I am honestly still in total shock because I really did not expect them to fold so quickly. I have been staring at the email for ten minutes just trying to breathe because all 699 of you made the developers realize they could not …

We, as current homeowners in The Ponds development, adamantly oppose the amendments to the original Developers Agreement as proposed by KH Ponds LLLP (a.k.a. Kolter Homes) which are on the Dorchester County Planning Commission’s September 10th meeting agenda. We believe it fundamentally changes the original developer's vision and will negatively impact our home values, conservancy efforts, and enjoyment of neighborhood amenities. The amendments also counter Dorchester County's 2018 Comprehensive Plan.

We understand there may be a need for minor changes in any development. However, such sweeping changes without any current homeowner feedback undermines every family who purchased into the original majestic Lowcountry community plan, surrounded by untouched history and nature. We, as a community are organized to resist these amendments across all avenues available to us as taxpayers and voters in Dorchester County.

I really thought this might just fizzle out in the shadows but seeing how many neighbors are actually paying attention makes me think we might just hold our ground after all. It is honestly surreal to watch this momentum build when I remember sitting at my kitchen table just hoping one other person would see the logic in staying the course.

I moved here for the peace and quiet not to live in a construction zone forever. Stick to the plan.

Ridiculous. We were promised a certain level of community and now they just want more money. Stay out of our neighborhood.

We bought here because of the original plan. Keep your word and stop trying to change things behind our backs.

My family moved to the ponds for the nature trails. If they ruin that with more high density housing we are ruined.

KEEP THE ORIGINAL AGREEMENT. We deserve a say in where our tax dollars go and what our streets look like.
