Since Graham Poll's retirement from refereeing people tuning in to watch sport on the BBC or tuning in to listen to sport on Five Live have had their listening pleasure spoilt by having to listen to the "expert" opinion of this average referee. He was not much better than an ego-tripping, game-spoiler when he was "active" and even less inspiring when using the BBC to spout his opinion on referees and to use this platform to get in sly digs at managers who had previously given him a hard time during his professional job.
