I always sensed that there was more to this movie than it was letting on and I'd love to see a restored version of the entire movie!

I loved the trailer for this, watched it so many times, and half the trailer isn't in the film! I've always wanted to see the uncut version.

I’m signing this petition in support of the original, unsurpassed Avengers and the loyal fan base. However, I’m no fan of the movie and the proposed reconstructed opening comprehensively summarises it’s failings for me. Simply, it runs counter to everything the conceptual geniuses behind The Avengers developed. The performance of miscast Uma Thurman is Hollywood-generic, the action is tedious CGI-boosted, the design is unoriginal (Connery’s sub-Dr Phibesesque world), Fiennes is as stiff as wood. All of these pedestrian components are, well, anti-Avengers. Sean vehemently disliked the film and I concur. Someone someday soon must reactivate the sorely missed Steed-Peel Avengers for the big screen. But - please! - under the guidance of a disciplined, visionary talent comparable with Peter Hammond, Robert Fuest or Brian Clemens. You’re needed, Guillermo del Toro!

I am an Avengers fan and I have a soft spot for this movie - it has great style in the way it is shot. I don't believe this given a proper chance on the initial release and the theatrical edit is a bit jumpy and the running time far too short. I would love to see a longer version to give the movie decent pacing and room to breathe. Plus there was deleted footage in the trailer!

Absolutely love The Avengers and this film fully captivates the quirky, surreal and fun sense of frivolity the original series had. So I'd love to see a director's cut.

That 20 years have passed and Warners have still not seen fit to issue this film as it should have been released is very sad. It's a better film than the hack-job edit from 1998 suggests. Would buy a Director's Cut in an instant.
