It is a great event and would be a shame to lose it. I’m sure another community would be glad to take it on if, for whatever reason, it does not continue.

As long as it draws the ELVIS FESTIVAL should continue. I believe the ELVIS haters want to shut them down because they are jealous of the attention the festival attracts. Screw the haters and continue the tradition!

I’ve been attending the Elvis festival since I was 12 years old, this past festival was my 15th year of attendance. I look forward to it every year, as do my friends and family. As a teen I would drive from Parry Sound with car loads of my friends to see what this nerdy thing was I always talked about, they all loved it and now attend in their adult years from their own homes.
I meet new people every year with their own stories of their times at the festival, many of whom are elderly widowers who look forward to the fest where they can see friends and be amongst people who can reminisce with them. It brings joy to these people’s lives. Due to rumours of the festival ending, I asked many shop keepers during this past festival what their stance is on the weekend, almost all of them responded with positive feedback on the effects it has on their businesses. Hearing this from their mouths make me think the ugly rumours going around that it harms businesses in the downtown is just a couple of squeaky wheels ruining it for everyone. If you can’t find a way to make business work with an extra 12000 people in town, maybe it’s your business style hurting you and not the festival.
Let’s keep it going, bring music to the town, and keep Collingwood on the map.

I have been coming to Collingwood Elvis Festival since the beginning. I pay thousands of dollars to come and see such an amazing event. It would be such a sad thing for it all to end. I have seen it grow from a same event to the large one it is today. The Festival is one of the best in the world. Hope it dosen't end. The city needs to look at the money it brings into their city. I know how much I spend, and what I bring into the event
