THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST. WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING SIGNATURES ON THIS PETITION. WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT!

Please support our effort to encourage the WHOA Board and Management to join our efforts to get rid of this invasive species in our community!

Many of you have written about the stilt grass – thank you for your interest! If you haven’t signed the petition, there is still time to make your voice heard!

We are NOT advocating placing the sole onus on any one person or organization – we need collaborative participation from WHOA Management AND WHOA Members/Homeowners! We must all work together, as a COMMUNITY, to rid our beautiful Woods of this interloper!

All homeowners need to pull out, mow, or spray the stilt grass on their properties! We need WHOA to spray and mow the roadways and easements. We also need to EDUCATE all Woods Residents about invasives – even our lush golf courses could be overtaken in 3-5 years if the stilt grass is allowed to continue to grow rampantly. If we all do our part, the stilt grass won't have a chance!

Also, concerning Firewise, the stilt grass is beginning to die off for the winter. What will be left behind is dead, dry, and decaying grass – also known as “jackpot fuel” for a fire! Clean your properties NOW to reduce fire risk!

We have also reached out to the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources – after all, we are adjacent to Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area, and don’t want our problem to spread unmitigated into public lands!

Finally, despite what you might have read, it is FREE to sign this petition. The first/landing page may ask for a donation – just scroll to the bottom and click, “No, I don’t wish to donate.” You will then be taken to the petition page.

Together we can make this happen! Let’s show we can come together for the good of our community! Thank you for your support!

We need to start removing the stilt grass and other invasive plants - like barberry and nandina- on WHOA property. If we don’t, we will do serious damage to not only our community, but the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area.

We have been battling this horrible weed for years and without the surrounding areas being cleared, we will never be able to stay ahead of it. As part timers this is a huge burden as this weed grows 8x faster than our tiny bit of grass can.

The stilt grass is overtaking our native plants and clogging our culverts. It needs to be dealt with .

I have been watching and dealing with this HIGHLY INVASIVE stuff for 5 years, keeping it from my lot. Some help from our HOA is overdue.

It might help us. I have lots of it and just don't know where it came from. I know its from China, but how we got it????

We need to control this grass now. We live in the woods with nature - the silk grass will kill all of that if left uncontrolled.
