Currently, the stated hours of the pool are Wednesday through Sunday 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. These hours are restrictive and do not meet the needs of the working families who reside in The Woods at Myrtle Point Single Family and Townhomes. While these hours were accepted last year due to the late opening of the pool and the lack of pool furniture, these are not acceptable hours for a long-awaited community pool. Many area community pools are open seven days a week until 8:00 or 9:00 PM.
We would like to petition for the pool to be open seven (7) days a week with the potential change in time to 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. These hours would allow working families and children in daycare to go to the pool after work as well as offer a constructive space for children to go seven days a week.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the momentum behind this request. It is incredible to see so many neighbors wanting the same thing for our community. This is entirely because you chose to speak up.

I am truly humbled by how many of you have stopped me to talk about these pool hours because you all feel the same frustration I do. It turns out I am not alone in wanting a bit more time for our families to enjoy the space. Your personal stories are the reason this is finally getting some serious attention from the board.

The pool being closed on mondays and tuesdays makes zero sense when we pay our fees every single month. need more flexibility for the working folks.

11-7 is way too early to close. by the time i get home from work its basically over. lets get it open until 8 or 9 at least.
