The Village, OK: Objection to Rezoning Petition
This petition is in opposition of rezoning the properties of 2832 Orlando Rd. & 10400 May Ave. from A1 single family lots to C2 commercial property. The developer is planning to demolish the two single-family homes on these lots and construct a two-story commercial building(s). This new commercial space will have a significant impact on the surrounding neighbors due to the additional traffic, noise, decreased property values, and other risks associated with unknown tenants while bringing no additional value to the citizens of The Village. Similar commercial spaces in the area remain vacant and have been unable to attract businesses to rent out office space.
We ask that The Village Planning & Zoning Commission as well as The Village City Council deny the applicants request to rezone these single-family homes and preserve the quality of our neighborhood.
