Ultimate is the only sport where both men and women (boys and girls) can play the game together. It is non contact and self called so it promotes the "spirit of the game" which is the foundation of fair play and respect for your fellow players. Please support.

I'm a Boulder High asst. coach for ultimate frisbee. I fully support this petition-- it is a wonderful sport for high school students and we are so pleased this group wants to start a new team in their school and in our region.

I'm a teacher in FCPS, and students just approached me the other day to 'sponsor' their Ultimate club (they can't actually play, though, unless it's recognized as an official club sport). So exciting, though!

Ultimate is a great sport. It would be awesome to have it available for students in schools.

As a Langley High School graduate and college ultimate frisbee player I know I would really have benefited from having this sport come into my life at an earlier age. FCPS should jump at the chance to be a part of the ultimate community!!

It seems ridiculous that there needs to be a petition for a sport that has college and professional levels.

The kids should be able to apply for permits to use the school fields.

Ultimate is an awesome sport teaching team spirit and requiring challenging physical conditioning.

I played ultimate at Thomas Jefferson in 2005 when we took 2nd in the new DC Area High School League that was entirely volunteer run by students and teachers. Since then I have played ultimate at the highest levels, including winning a World Club Championship with Seattle Riot. Having started ultimate in high school (without the support of my school) gave me a competitive advantage when I headed off to college. However, that is no longer the case. Seattle has school sponsored elementary school leagues. Playing ultimate in high school is now the norm, and FCPS needs to better facilitate this sport and support its students.
