Away from the Philippines, I would have not known about this law of preserving historical monuments had it not been for this Petition, and I thank my good friend Al Manlangit for initiating this. Politics, I believe, played a big role in putting up this towering but unlawful edifice. And ignorance of the law, if I may add.
