Wow how embarrassing to pick such a racist name for a store! Haha she looks so dumb right now. Who does that? Racism is not cute or fashionable!

This woman must not have seen a movie or read a book or went to school ! How can this idiot not know the use of squaw is so demeaning to Native women.

The name of her business is an racial insult toward Native American women.

Please listen to all the Native people speaking out about the harmful slur in your store name. It does not matter your intention, your impact is what matters. Changing the store name to one not containing a racial slur is the only ethical course of action. To continue profiting from racial slur - or honestly even a word referring to Native women in any way which you are not - is a racist and immoral action, again regardless of your intention. You are also in violation of the federal Indian Arts & Crafts Act of 1990 by selling jewelry labeled “Navajo jewelry” but not made by Navajo people.

It’s a slur. Read some history.

The name contains a slur and the designs are your typical, watered down "native inspired" looks. Profiting off of anything that isn't yours is stealing.

Please, just change the name. It’s derogatory, and just wrong.

I wonder if we can charge her for discrimination or human rights? This is discrimination- she’s knows it’s disapproved of

I'm white and I am extremely offended by the term sq***. In my county and state (Oregon), places which once had this word in them have since been changed to something that demonstrates respect. Just make a new sign and website. Humility will get you further. Earn the right to be a trusted white.

It one thing to be uninformed. It is a totally different thing to not want to learn. I stand proud with my Native sisters!!!

The use of the word Sq**w is wrong in so many ways and if the owner of this business actually did her homework in the naming of her business she should have seen that it is degrading, demeaning and derogatory. It's the same as calling her a white b****h. People were banned from Facebook for that so why wasn't she banned for the use of the word Sq**w?

Now that you know that the name you are using is insulting and degrading, how about being a stand-up person and changing it? Ignorance is no longer an excuse.

The wasichu oppressors most likely will never "get it". We have to stay very close, and know that we "get it". Honor and love to all Indigenous Nations of this Western Hemisphere. Our Mother is taking it all back, stay strong and remember the old ones. Pilomiya Yelo. Wolf, Native Elder.

For this person to not listen to actual tribal people telling her this is an insult shows her lack of care and intelligence. This is NOT ok.
