As a pastor, my deepest apologies that this woman is invoking God in defense of her slur and inability to receive feedback about it. If God is indeed with her, I am confident God is calling her to listen to First Nations voices.

We’re all at different points in our evolution but when someone tells you to stop what you’re doing because it’s racist, maybe listen?

How ever good your intentions may have been the name is wrong in so many ways this is a case of miseducation and it would not please you if someone used the name if roles were reversed the sheer ignorance of assumption is why this problem arose. Maybe instead of looking in a diconary for a definition you could have asked a native elder and gotten an opinion on your naming ideas for your buisness and you truly are with all good intentions wanting to uplift our culture please find another name .

I suggest a new name, using such a word for a business is incredibly disrespectful.

Just throw it away.....throw it all away. She's a small business woman and likely will not last over a year. Dream smaller Brooke, just like your small mind.

Throughout Indian country the term squaw references Native women in a disgraceful insulting manner. Please respect our women by removing this word squaw.
