When people whose culture you are profiting off of tell you that what your doing is not ok, it is time to step back, be humble, truly apologize, and change the name. It is NOT time to bully, demean, and react defensively. Stop using that derogatory term, our tribal names, and your romanticized version of our imagery for your own profit, or there will be consequences.

Change the name, it does not stand for anything but derogatory means. You’ll forever be known as a racist colonizer if you do not change it.

I’m a native woman, and I’m disgusted. This is disgusting racism, and you must change the name of your boutique. If so many native people are telling you it’s offensive, why don’t you listen? You’re profiting off of the name of your boutique and off native likeness and culture. The least you can do is change the name for the damage and pain you’ve done.

Please change this racist and offensive name. Look beyond your own life and feel empathy for the generations of women who have been dismissed and repressed by the use of this word.

Unless you are a Native American (though you probably wouldn't use the term "squaw" if you were) you cannot use words that are historically derogatory and currently harmful to living humans.

Honestly, if you truly do not understand why this is a very bad idea to cling to that name, feel free to contact me. I would be glad to share my grandmotherly perspective if you need help to see how wrong it is
