I remember being called a squaw as a kid. It was very offensive and said with hatred. Anyone with any sense or sensitivity would change the name. I bet the owner isn’t even Indigenous.

The word “squaw” is one of the most racist, vile, derogatory, and misogynistic terms used to describe American Indian women. The owner of this boutique refuses to acknowledge the real meaning of the word, and has her friends defending her online using even more racial slurs and hate-language towards American Indians. I want the name changed, I do not want my daughters to be subject to any of this that is going on on FB and Instagram. It’s digsusting.

Just change it dont defend it. Know your place and api. That's cree for sit down. And squaw doesn't need to mean what you found it means. Its derogatory. Much like negroe means black. Its not a good word to use regardless.

Change your racist company name
