I am not ashamed of who I am, but this wasichu should be for her stupidity. The name has to be changed in order for you to run a business correctly.

As an Indigenous woman I find this owners business to be very tasteless and racist to say the least.

At dictionary.com, all three definitions of the word "squaw" in the American dictionary are considered offensive since the beginning of the 20th century. In the British dictionary, the first def. is considered offensive, and the second is "facetious". Have the Brits ever been known to be racist?

Exactly what I was thinking. I put that in my comment by my signature! Zero empathy is a sign of either narcissism or sociopathic disorder. She associates with people who deliberately called women protesting this that word. Anyone with conscience who had not known would be horrified, apologize, and change it immediately rather than argue and attack thousands of people telling her of it. Narcissism often goes with sociopathic disorder and they lash out big time when told they have harmed another rather than feeling bad and stopping the behavior. They only recognize their own ego, are incapable of compassion or caring for anyone else yet have very low self esteem.

A rep said she's Cherokee and Sioux. Lakotas don't use the Ojibwe word meaning enemy snake for themselves. They tend to be specific and go by their tribe or band name, like Oglala Lakota, or Hunkpapa, or their nation, and say Lakota, Nakota, Dakota, or Oceti Sakowin. So, hm...

And they are using that word too, in comments on social media. Ending it in an a does not alter it's connotations but does speak to their general character.
