Really disappointed to see something like this. It is racist, and in her Instagram stories she tried to explain why she picked the word, but she needs to understand that even if the word means women, it is not her word to use.

It is wise to educate yourself about a word before using it in your company name. Choose your words wisely...words have power and using something that has been used as a derogatory term is not only irresponsible, but racist.

The name is ignorant and racist. It should not exist in this day and age.

Squaw refers to Native woman who were taken (stolen) out of the Native communities and forced to preform sexual acts on colonial men. She can change the name to Spunky Honky.

It’s unfortunate that despite the outcry from the tribal community that this individual wants to say, “I’m not offending anyone” as to infer we don’t matter as people!

So offended because I can’t believe our society allows disrespectful name titles to business’, teams, logos without the permission of said ethnic or cultural background.

squaw is a racial slur directed at Native women, not an accessory or fashion choice

Not that this should matter but I am married into an indigenous tribe and my children need to know that crap like this won't be tolerated. But beyond my personal experience with this, this "business" should change their name. Not double down on what they're doing. It's hurtful and so inappropriate.

The use of a commonly known derogatory term is a hate crime toward First Nations women.
