The word Squ*w is a derogatory term that my great grandmother had tossed at her for her entire Adult life. To her sons wife, she was the Angry Iroquois Squ*w. To her family she was a Strong Mohawk Woman who survived Indian Residential School where three of her siblings died at age 5 from Rape abuse torture and disease, and were tossed in Mass Graves. Natives don't use the word. It is the colonizers word. To us it is equal to the N word that our African American Brothers and sisters have had thrown at them. Its a word the Colonizer uses to Describe our women as Trash and beneath their feet. The store using this word acting like it is trendy is a RACIST ACT and it must end now. I don't care how many of the owners alleged colonized native friends don't mind the word. Its a white supremacist word. A slur. A word of hate speech and a word of violence. This isn't a " please change it" request. This is a " Change the name now " DEMAND. STOODIS!

The name of this brand/company/business contains a derogatory slur that is officially recognized everywhere as “offensive”. This petition comes in light of numerous Native Americans asking the owner(s) to change the name and receiving negative responses that show they defend the use of this slur. Some of the material they do business with is also in violation of federal law that is supposed to protect our traditional and cultural items.

Squaw refers to Native women who were taken (stolen) out of the Native communities and forced to preform sexual acts on colonial men. This is what those men would call them when they were done with them.
She should change the name to Spunky Honky, no white should be offended by that, right?
