You may not have meant to offend, but it isn't your word to decide the definition, meaning, and legacy of. With that in mind, please respect this request to change your business name.

After finding out this “boutique” owner is aware that the name is horribly racist and offensive but refuses to change it,I definitely wanted to sign this. Disgusting privileged people.

Get rid of this disgusting, derogatory name now! And stop using headdresses to sell your business. Headdresses are earned only by those who have the right to do so one feather at a time. This is blatant cultural exploitation and theft of Intellectual Cultural Property Rights.

I was born on the Blackfeet Reservation, but have ancestry through Pembina Chippewa. I am a professional dancer and teacher. At 76 years of age, I find the use of the word "squaw" to be totally derogatory and a throwback to even more racist times when my own mother was denied housing because of her native blood. Girl, get educated, get real, change that name and apologize for your behavior!
