Did you know that in the USA in August 2013 Labor Statistics reported that there were 7.6 million people working part-time jobs due to economic reasons. Of the those 7.6 million workers 17% (1.3million) were between ages 20 and 24. Most of the growth in part-time workers has been because of slack business conditions or an inability to find a full time job. Many companies also give a lot of part time work so that they will be able to save money. It is also extremely hard for a single parent to buy all the basic needs for their family because when you work part time the pay is generally lower. When you work part time you get less benefits, vacation time, and sick days. It is unfair to part time employees when they do almost the same job as the full time employees but get paid less and get less benefits. Help part-time employees get more benefits by signing this petition.

it is so stressful trying to keep the lights on with only twenty hours a week. employers treat us like we are disposable. thanks for posting this.
