In order to become president, one must be born in the US. This petition is against this because people that have lived here most of their lives are just as American as anyone else that was born here. They are citizens that have sworn allegiance to this country, they have full rights and the same freedoms and liberties; except for the right to run for presidency. People that move here from another country and spend their lives in America may even be more American than others because they truly appreciate the opportunities and the freedoms that they have while others may take them for granted. Why is that these people don't have the right to run for office? Why does the place a person is born dictate whether or not they can run for a position where they could help this country prosper? Why is that people can serve in the Armed Forces or be a Supreme Court Justice without being born in the US, but those same people can not run to lead this nation? Signing this petition would mean that you support what was stated above and that you support the amendment that will allow citizens that have lived in the US for 40 years or more the right to run for presidency. Please consider signing this petition. Thank you.
