The 600 town houses and single family homes proposed for the Freeway Airport will effect our property values and change the area in a negative way.

We need the roads, schools and infrastructure taken care of first. Not on our backs but the greedy contractors

Can’t let this happen! We can’t allow a rezoning.
Most of us moved to this area for the quiet, nature and open space! We can’t allow any more traffic on Church Road! 600 homes = at least 600 more cars! It’s already Church Speedway!

We care about the traffic and maintaining the peaceful enjoyment of our community in this wonderful greenscape.
Church Rd simply wasn’t structured from this type of development and it’s not being addressed in the go around of road improvements.

We do not support high density development on the Freeway airport site because it will significantly impact the traffic and infrastructure of this area and it is not consistent with the type of new development planned for this area. We also object to the ice rink because Bowie is requesting its homeowners to pay and to go into long term debt for something only a very small portion of the homeowners will actually use. The fact Church Rd is the planned location makes it twice as bad because not only will Bowie homeowners have to pay for it, the homeowners on and near Church Rd. will be significantly impacted by the traffic.

I can attest that since living off Church Road starting in 1995, traffic has exponentially increased while moving at higher than the speed limit. It takes me longer to get in and out of my development; accidents are up and a recent fatality of one of our shinning youth happened due to high speeds. Church Road cannot handle more cars that a higher density development will bring. To do so puts current and even the new residents at greater perils if approved. In addition, we do not have enough school capacity in the Bowie area to absorb our current students. If approved this project will strain our educational system, thereby making PG schools rank even lower than it is currently ranked in the state of MD, which is lower than we want it to be. Poor schools do not attract quality job producing industries nor citizens who want a good lifestyle for their families.

With five new housing developments. One on the corner of Church and Woodmore Rd. The fight to hold off zoning changes for a 750 parking lot Mega Church and Freeway Airport trying to changed to high density living to accommodate up to 9 dwellings per acre on 129 acres, and now a double Ice Rink. Maybe the tragic loss of a young man who was recently killed trying to cross Church road will make officials pay attention to our concerns more than giving speeding tickets on such a busy road that is attracting development. Church road from Mt. Oak to Rt. 214 is scenic and cannot be widened. How will travel be on this road if all this development/zoning changes are approved. Each project acts as if they are the only development. We need our Officials to look at the impact of their decisions. We can’t change zoning to allow this. This is a low density area and apartments/condos/townhouses, Dual Ice Rinks and Mega Churches will change the quality of life we moved here for.

The addition of a church will further interfere with me being able to get out of my neighborhood due to an increase in traffic on Church Road. This areas is suffering from overgrowth.
