If Turkey wants to continue to be considered, as it should be, one among the serious and powerful nations of this world, it must immediately stop this absurd, pathetic purge of those who know what they're talking about.

I wish academics in my country were as powerful as they seem to be in Turkey according to the government's statements to pull of coups, but no. The Turkish government is trying to put a blindfold over the Turkish people by persecuting intellectuals, and the intellectuals of the world should not back down from protecting colleagues and comrades of Turkey.

This is outrageous! Turkey needs to be an open and free society where people can express their opinions without being afraid to be imprisoned. You will otherwise see horrible brain drain and economic recession.

Education is enlightenment and the present Turkish Government has put out the light which guides the next generation - Turkey under dictatorship - There is no longer a democratic right in your country - Take heed Mr. Presidents that the love you experienced a few days ago from your people can easily turn into hatred and despise under your marching boots.
