On February 14th, 2020, two siblings were struck by a vehicle as they were leaving school in North Las Vegas, NV. These children did what they were taught; they followed the rules when crossing the street; using a cross walk. What caused such a tragedy? DISTRACTED DRIVING.
2 days later, one of the siblings - the son, brother, cousin and friend in our community - lost his life.
It is unfortunate that yet another family is left in agony as they mourn the loss of one child and pray for the recovery of another.
Being distracted at the wheel CAN be avoided.
In honor of the little angel, let us all make a pledge to “THE PUCK PROMISE” (in honor of this young man’s love for all things hockey).
Pledge to be more aware of your responsibilities when you are at the wheel.

Priority to the safety of myself & others. I WILL NOT TOUCH MY CELLPHONE WHILE BEHIND THE WHEEL
Undivided attention to signs, crossing guards & speed limits
Caution to traffic, crosswalks and pedestrians
Kids and school zones deserve my utmost attention

I promise to never again be a distracted driver. All my love to the Bush family, and the Vegas community ❤️
I wish this didn’t have to be a “thing”, but too many people drive distracted. Like too many other things “it won’t happen to me” sometimes does.
Thank you for this. We’ve all been guilty of improper phone use even with our best intentions....it can happen and it has, to our Alex. My heart will never be the same. Thank you for raising awareness and I am ready to help rally and campaign this cause until I lose my voice. Love Jenni’s cousin Kim
On my drive to California today, I already honored this. I vow to be and do better, I also vow to talk to everyone about this. ❤️ It can wait.
I will keep this commitment in honor of Alex Bush and everyone who suffers as a result of accidents caused by texting behind the wheel and taking your eyes off the road.
