Everyone deserves a second chances no one deserves to be judged by their skin color or the way they talk or by the way they look. I feel like as human beings we all deserve second chances and not to be judged.its alot of families out here being hurt because alot of our family members are being taking away from us

This is travesty, I agree with someone serving time for their crime but life without parole. The private prison instutions should be abolished. wake up florida and do the right thing. you have a God to answer to

I believe that you should give people parole after a certain amount of time. If they didn't hurt anyone or kill anyone they should have the opportunity for parole. That's not fair that they have to sit there and live their lives in there when they could be trying to get their lives straight. Pedifiles can come out after 5 to 7 years. Doesn't make sense......

I believe in this petition because it will help people reunite with their families that have served a sufficient amount of time incarcerated and have shown they can be productive members of society and possibly giving back to the community after being rehabilitated in Florida Department of Corrections

I believe if the people that have life sentences and have served a sufficient amount of time and have shown that they can live in society without any future problems and have a good support system on the outside that they may have another chance to be productive members of society and also there for their families and friends and can be an example and do community service for those who feel like they have no hope in life and use their lives and experiences as examples I believe if this laws passed people will see a brighter future and their life although this law is discretionary it gives people that have changed their life another chance to prove to society that they can do bigger and better things with the remainder of their future and help those that need a better way of life like getting involved with reentry programs on the outside and helping the community in a better way basically they would be giving back to the community which is much needed by people who have served a sufficient amount of time on the in side

I just want you to know that there are many parole elgible inmates who ARE NOT RAPIST OR MURDERS as well. Their crimes were robbery or of some other extent. I will be the first to tell you that the FDOC is full of injustice and needs to be fixed because my husband is an inmate and over the many years of his incarceration I have seen men DIE in prison while waiting for the parole to be granted. You need to know the facts about the parole board and the FACT IS THAT THEY DENY ALMOST EVERYONE. Right now I know guys who were suppose to go home in the 1990's but instead the parole board suspended their parole and they have no out date some are in their 70's now. Recently a man went before the board having served already 40 years and being 66 years old they gave him an out date of 2050 knowing he will be dead by then. THIS IS HOW THOSE PAROLE EGLIBLE INMATES are treated. They are not all Murderes and lets not forget that SIN IS SIN anyway and you cannot say justice for one and not for another when you do not know the circumstance of that persons crime. Most inmates commit crimes under the influence of addiction and while that is not an excuse I know it is a factor and in their sober self they would never do such a thing as murder. I had an abortion as a teenager. That is MURDER yet I walk free today. We need to bring back parole for everyone who has served 25 years or more and if they prove to be DR free and working toward goals then they should be released no matter what the crime. GOD CHANGES PEOPLE. PRISON CHANGES PEOPLE and the statistic show that those who serve 25 years or more in prison are less likely to come back then those who they send in for 5 to 15 years. Actually these 5 to 15 years almost always reoffend with a more violent crime. This should not be happening.
