The Mistreated Students of Montgomery

MPS needs to be taught a lesson all LAMP students have already been taught: time management. The system should focus on each and every one of its schools instead of focusing on a 2nd round of renovations for the system's newest school.

This has happened to my children in MPS more than once......not just at LAMP.

Please stand up for LAMP! One of Montgomery's few redeeming institutions.

As a recent graduate of LAMP, it is ASTOUNDING to hear the complete and utter apathy that has been shown in regard to not only geometry students, but the students of an Advanced Placement course. These grades affect COLLEGE. NOT just high school. The absurdity is unambiguous.

An administrative blunder on this scale is baffling in its own right, but for it to have affected the records and learning experience of these students is not only unacceptable, but indicative of a disconnect between MPS and the school that has been, and continues to be, a pattern. Vacancies occur every now and then, but unless there is plan to supply skilled educators when such vacancies appear, then students' classroom experience are not being prioritized. This sets a poor precedent for handling comparable cases--which are not uncommon, as something similar happened to LAMP's AP German students in 2011-2012.

I'm not the only one who's felt the horrible decisions of MPS

I completely agree with this petition, as I am a student currently affected by the poor handling of this situation. I think the school system as a whole needs to be changed. Coming from a mostly regular school background, I can verify that there are issues in those kinds of schools that need to be addressed as well. The students of Montgomery deserve better.

It's time for MPS to realize that LAMP does, in fact, matter. We should be treated as such.

As a student of LAMP, I get to see this first hand. This is simply unacceptable.

I used to be in the statistic class before our great stats teacher retired last year, and I am mad at MPS for not providing our current stats students the opportunity to learn a subject they intended to take the exam of. I wanted them to have a great experience as I once did.

The geometry/ statistics students should not need to retake/ drop these courses - we were doing so well until our teacher just left. we are not responsible and it is not our fault that our grades have been affected- it was the authorities.

You can't sign kids up for failure. Correct those wrongs.

same with brew tech! the statistics teacher can't ever actually teach the course so they don't take the AP exam! no one is prepared

I am one of the geometry students and I completely agree!!

Student at LAMP and all of this is true. It is ridiculous how little MPS actually cares about the number 1 school in the state. We bring in the most revenue and academic prestige, yet get the least amount of attention.
