My signature here represents support for the reopening of The Jinx vía a quick approval process from the city. More than just a bar, the community built around the original location was incredibly important to me and so many others. Allowing this community its space once again would mean a great deal to a lot of Savannahians. The Jinx and its community of people are part of what make Savannah a unique and enjoyable place to live.

The Jinx is a staple in the Savannah community and run by incredible people who get the best staff and bands from all over the world to play and visit beautiful Savannah. It is the one constant place I always visit every single time I am in Savannah. I was lucky enough that Susan purchased it my sophomore year at SCAD and my entire time until I graduated it was my second home. I am lucky that I get to visit often while doing work for SCAD since graduating many years ago and I cannot even fathom Savannah without such an incredible music venue and bar as The Jinx!

I live just around the corner on DeSoto Avenue and I am excited at the prospect of the Jinx reopening in my neighborhood! This venue is very much aligned with the values and feel of Starland. There's nothing quite like the Jinx - it has been very much missed - and especially now that Victory North primarily hosts private events and cover bands, a place for local artistic talent to shine is very much needed.

As a resident of the Starland District and the Executive Director/Co-founder of ARTS Southeast + Sulfur Studios located on Bull Street, I am thrilled to have the Jinx as our neighbors in the Starland District and know that they will be an excellent addition to the arts and culture scene that is so prized by the neighborhood. Not only will they bring fantastic music and art to the neighborhood, as well as patrons who will support neighboring businesses, they are a stalwart of Savannah’s community - Starland is lucky to have them!
