Not only was Joe an outstanding athlete, he was a great leader, friend, and family guy. Just the mention of his name in our community brings a smile to your face. We all remember him fondly. We were all his friends.

Only having known Joe Bello since my freshman year at Kennedy, Joe was a role model for a lot of the younger kids. I had the pleasure of watching him as co-captain, guide our Saints to several championships during my years at Kennedy. Having played the same position as him, Joe always took the time to stop and mentor us younger guys, even though he was a superstar on the gridiron. He made the time! He cared about his teammates! I had the pleasure of knowing Joe as a friend over the years. I am one of the MANY who pray that his legacy will live on! Joe gives SAINTS PRIDE it's meaning!

Joe was a big personality and a tenacious player on the football field. I had the opportunity to play football with him. He was a true leader on that team. He also came out for the baseball team his senior year. Fit right in and became a vital part of that '83 baseball squad.
That picture shown of a muddied football uniform is the embodiment of my memories of Joe Bello.
Big personality, Big heart, Great player in whatever he did.

I knew Joey for so many years growing up. He was one of the good ones. He was a loving Son, Brother and Friend. Joey was also a tremendous athlete. He gave his focus and passion on the field and deserves to be remember for his love and devotion of the game!!!
