Joe was a football player like no other. That whole generation was. He led by example. Coach Bockrath always said, "Give 100%!" Joe did just that. In practice 4 days of the week and then on game day. I've never seen a running back run so hard. He deserves a life of recognition.

I had the pleasure of playing football with Joe Bello for four years at Kennedy. Joe always gave everything he had, at practice as well as games. And when everything he had wasn't enough, he found more. And his toughness and unwillingness to fail inspired every one of his teammates and friends to give more. I never saw anyone take more pride in being an Archbishop Kennedy Saint than him. Joe took losses personally. And wins were always Team wins. He was the quintessential team player. An excellent captain, a great teammate, and a dear friend describes Joe to anyone who had the pleasure to know him. And for those unfortunate players that had to play against him, well I hope your injuries and your pride has healed. Because after he ran you over he had a huge smile on his face.
Please nominate Joe Bello to the HOF for his intensity, comradary, and love of Football.
