The whole Buford City cabal - to include Phillip Beard and the rest of the city commission and school board should be purged in favor of new leadership. The city and the school system suffers from too much nepotism and shady operations. Mr. Beard's 40 years of service is not about dedication to the City of Buford and its people, it is about personal power and making money on those people. Unfortunately, many other ride his coat tails to favorable positions, salaries or other goodies. Buford seems to have become a monument to Phillip Beard...many facilities razed to build new questionable facilities...whether to compete with Suwanee or Sugar Hill OR just another building to put his name and those of the other elected and favorably appointed officials. I suspect the upcoming legal action will expose that more than Geye Hamby are guilty of certain actions and attitudes. Trial depositions will ask the questions. The people of Buford and the parents of Buford City School children should demand answer and file open record requests to see the answers to those questions. The answer will likely show Dr. Hamby is not the only officials that needs to move along. Rather, Buford residents will see the actions and abuse of power from old guard politicians whose tie should come to an end in favor of new leadership that will not abuse power, seek personal gain and try to silence all who disagree.
