I just received the news that Geye Hamby will no longer be superintendent. I am honestly stunned by this outcome and humbled that so many of you signed your names to help make it a reality. This result belongs entirely to you because my only role was to start the …
The superintendent of the city of Buford’s school district used racist language and spoke of wanting to kill black construction workers who had angered him.
Superintendent Geye Hamby, in two recorded conversations used racial epithets repeatedly when referring to African-American workers at a construction site.
The information came to light after the superintendent wrongful fired Mary Ingram because of her race and the race of her constituents that she stood up for in public meetings.
He should be terminated immediately!!!
I honestly never thought this would reach one hundred signatures when I started it. It is clear that so many of you care deeply about this issue and that is really something.

I checked the screen and saw 500 signatures staring back at me. I never imagined so many people would care about this, but seeing all of you stand up like this is truly overwhelming.

No individual with his personal views can perform their job impartially without prejudice. His judgment is impaired and he should NEVER be placed in any leadership position wherever his decision require non-biased implementation of policy.

Any person who harbors racist beliefs has no right to be in charge of children's education, particularly at a level that grants him influence over a whole city's school system. He needs to be terminated from his position immediately.

I attended Buford City Schools from 3rd grade onward. This is so disappointing and sickening. How can someone with such strong hatred of people of a different color than him run a school system? What kind of example is he setting for the children in the schools?

The football players are staging a walk-out after the school board meeting on Monday. If he hasn't been fired or resigned, the majority of the team will not play in next weeks game. This will make the national news.

The statements made are a reflection of deep-rooted, racist ideologies that are still very much alive in our society. They don’t need to represent our school district. This is not what we stand for- he gotta go.

Hamby is poison. His wife isn’t exactly a ray of sunshine either.
