The Great British Petition
The UK parliamentary system is wrong. The UK parliamentary system is flawed.
The vast majority of voters have voices that are unheard. Out of 45 million voters at the 2015 UK election, 11 million chose the Tory party. This equates to 75 percent of the electorate having no say in how they are governed.
This is wrong. This is flawed.
The Green Party & UKIP collated 6 million votes between them, & were rewarded with 2 seats out of 650. The SNP polled less votes than the Greens (1.5 million) & were rewarded with 56 seats.
This is wrong. This is flawed.
There is a solution. Instead of voting in the next election, sign this petition. Share this petition.
If you are disaffected with your unheard voice, sign this petition. Share this petition.
If you are one of the 15 million who, for whatever disenchanted reasons, did not vote in the last election, sign this petition. Share this petition.
This petition is an instrument for change. Throughout history the British have always been at the forefront of social improvement. The time has come to show the world that we are ready to increase the quality of the human condition once again.

The UK parliamentary system is wrong. The UK parliamentary system is flawed. In the UK Cabinet, unqualified laymen are given total control over departments which control all aspects of our day-to-day life.
This is wrong. This is flawed.
Instead, let us set up a series of departmental guilds in which the best person for the job is elected by the people. Candidates selected by each guild shall be put forward at every election, whose individual credentials will be openly available for perusal by the electorate.
A voter may only be concerned with only a single department, or take an interest in all 20. On election day they have the basic right to vote for representative ministers on the issues which matter to them most. This not wrong. This is not flawed.

In a new Britain, the UK Cabinet shall remain in place. It works. But in a new Britain, the way in which ministers take their seats at the table shall be different. Not moved about willy-nilly in reshuffles instigated by some scandal, but filled by the best people for the job.
In a new Britain, we shall circumvent the problems of an antiquated parliamentary system.
In a new Britain, the UK Cabinet shall consist of 25 members, being;
Elected representatives;
The Chancellor of the Exchequer
Secretary of State for the Home Department
Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs
Secretary of State for Justice
Secretary of State for Defence
Secretary of State for Work and Pensions
Secretary of State for Health
Secretary of State for International Development
Secretary of State for Education
Secretary of State for Transport
Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills
Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government
Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport
Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change
Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs
Paymaster General
Minister of State for Employment
Minister of State for Small Business, Industry and Enterprise
The Attorney General
The following ministers shall be on the cabinet as the representatives of their devolved parliaments;
Secretary of State for Scotland
Secretary of State for Northern Ireland
Secretary of State for Wales
In addition, hereditary representatives of the signatories of the Magna Carta shall be in attendance;
A representative of the House of Lords. The House of Lords will lose their draconian powers & be treated as an individual guild.
A representative of the Royal family. It is time they earned their keep.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a new Britain, every individual may apply & assert change through government outreach programs.
In a new Britain, it is the guilds who, upon handling the civic pressures of their departmental roles, shall raise such issues through their representative on the cabinet.
In a new Britain, bills shall be passed in the same way as usual. Each department shall forward 4 votes to reflect the possible differing opinions of its members, to be forwarded by the representative on the Cabinet. This equates to 100 possible votes per bill, with a majority of 51 needed for it to be passed.
In a new Britain, every voice shall be heard.
