I grew up skateboarding at woodland park. It is a great skatepark and would be shame and waste of money to build a new one rather than fix and maintain the current one

Investing in the youth is a very big deal. If the park goes down so does the direction in which they turn their energy and creativity towards. Some of which aren't good. This park provides a positive outlet. Build it up so hopefully more youth will see that there are better activities than being out in the streets getting into mischief.

Please invest time and money into building up the skatepark. It has served to keep many local kids out of trouble and also served those to develop skateboard skills to be proud of. I am a mother of 9 here in Portage and we have been here for 11+ years so my sons have enjoyed being able to skate here and have many memories here. Now I have the last of the bunch coming up and she loves the idea of grabbing a skateboard and skating while her sister takes the family dog to the dog park right next to the skatepark! All I am saying, in a time where it isn't much for children to do that is positive and free why not invest in something for them that they enjoy and can gain many memories and skills from. Our skateboarders are an important part of our community and families so they deserve to have a place that is nice, safe to have a great time at! The dogs have the new dog park, the runners/walkers have the trails, softball players have the ballpark, soccer players are getting a new elite building and football players have several nice spots. Skateboarding is a sport in itself so let's give them a nice place!

It would be really sad to tear down Woodland Skate Park. It definitely needs to be made better though, I hope the town of Portage will rebuild it and make it great!

This is my home. Been coming there since it was a tennis court. I would live to see it get revamped and renewed with the same setup.

I love woodland skate park but the wood is so old and rotting that it's unsafe so I say a new skate park
