The incessant and unprovoked acts of Fulani Herdsmen have become a security threat to both lives and properties in Nigeria. Within a short time, they have claimed more lives and casualties than the already inglorious Boko Haram terrorist group. These herdsmen, marauding as cattle rearers wield sophisticated weapons and are quick to maim, kill and destroy anything that stands in their way to feed their cattles, even on farmland.

The incidents are too numerous to number and the rapidity with which they occur is worrying. It was Agatu in Benue State a month ago, where about 500 people were butchered in cold blood, and houses torched.

Yesterday it was Nimbo, Uzo-Uwani in Enugu State, where farmers and helpless locals, both women and children were ruthlessly and savagely slaughtered with impunity.

In all these, those whom the Nigerian citizens surrendered their powers to, in a social contract, have abdicated their duties and have remained silent in the presence of what can rightly be described as a mayhem and could lead to a genocide if not checked.

As Dietrich Bonhoeffer said "silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act". As such, the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, The President of the Senate of Nigeria, the Inspector General of the Nigerian Police and all persons within Nigerian, whom have been given power under our constitution is hereby called upon to renounce, reject, and take steps to stop this menace, this barbarity, this mayhem, this bizarre killing, this genocide and this acts of terror.
