The Fair PT Payment Petition
Physical therapists in private practice have identified PAYMENT as their top concern-- and by a wide
margin. During the last several years, many insurers have cut their payments by
30-50% causing payment conditions to be much worse than they were way back in
the 1990's. Meanwhile, the costs of doing business are much higher.
Today, PTBA asks for your support in signing the Fair PT Payment Petition. The petition has 4 major tenents:
1. Medicare payments should be based on the relative value that PTs provide within the healthcare system and should not be based on arbitrary rules and regulations which unfairly target PTs, such as MPPR.
2. Discount ‘middlemen’ networks should not reap large profits by micromanaging professional PT services or rationing care.
3. Discount ‘middlemen’ networks should not be allowed to alter or inflate healthcare providers’ billed charges in any way.
4. Discount ‘middlemen’ networks should work in a good faith manner with providers, following all regulations, state, and federal laws.
With your help, we can change
the future for physical therapists, their families,
patients, and our physical therapy professional associations!
HELP US HELP YOU by signing this petition and contributing to our grassroots effort, which will help fund The PT Payment Project.
Please forward the petition link to at least 3 of your colleagues concerned with payment, share it on Facebook, and/or share on Twitter.
