How irresponsible it would be to allow this to happen. Where is the moral compass of Sarasota? I have had ENOUGH of this rampant and unbridled development. The heart and soul of Sarasota is getting eaten alive by these parasitic developers. The money monster needs to STOP before every aspect of this town, it's true personality and essence, dies. Enough is enough, already!

The last thing we need is another fancy restaurant for the wealthiest patrons and a huge parking garage where you have to pay to park and that will cause even more gridlock to traffic, intruding on gardens and essential pollinators.

There is no need for a parking garage. Selby does not get enough foot traffic to justify it.

I oppose pimping Selby Gardens. Marie Selby would have adamantly opposed any action that blocked public access & especially one that served the elite. Destroying any part of the flora especially mature trees is myopic, greedy, and not a solution for parking issues. There are numerous other options; use your heads vs greed for $.

Our elected officials must do the right thing. Their primary function as Sarasota commissioners is to safeguard the public. Commercial development in s residential area will make a dangerous traffic situation on Orange Avenue much more dangerous. With only 2 traffic enforcement officers, the City cannot presently police and enforce the 25 mph limit on Orange Avenue, and changing the Selby zoning to commercial to allow a destination restaurant and event center will greatly exacerbate the current traffic and safety problem. I live on Orange Ave., and I was the first person on the scene when that poor woman was hit and killed by a truck going way too fast not too long ago. She lay dying at my feet, and this irresponsible proposal would forever change our residential neighborhood in a negative and unsafe way forever. Keep commercial development north of Mound Street!

Preserve Shelby Gardens as Marie Shelby wanted it preserved! No commercial high rise event centers! Wrong place. Too much traffic congestion and destruction of irreplaceable trees and charm. Save Shelby!

I love Selby Gardens but we need to stop this monstrosity of a garage/party venue! I find this enormous garage shocking, completely out of scale for the site, it will destroy the calm and beauty of a very special place. Yes, renovate, upgrade Selby Gardens but do it in a sensible way, not by ruining the neighborhood's quiet vibe.

Keep Sarasota green. Stop flooding the area with traffic and uprooting plants trees and parks. No garage. Selby Gardens should stay a garden, not a venue.

Far too many places in Sarasota have become commercial. This will forever ruin the beauty of Selby. If this gets built out, I will never go there again. Is this a money making idea for a few people????
