Logan, not all public schools assign homework. In fact one of our biggest deciding factors in choosing the school we did was the NO homework policy that's in place. There is actually no solid evidence or studies to prove that homework is even beneficial, but rather studies to show the opposite. There is a study that shows not only do students do better when they have NO homework, but teachers are also MORE effective during school because they are well rested due to the lack of having to read through and grade ALL that homework. Think about it, YOU the student have only ONE paper to write for a teacher, but that said teacher has to then read and correct or critique more than 20 papers....per PERIOD!!!! So therefore the teacher assigning the work is an essence giving themselves TONS of homework, creating stress and taking a lot of time away from their family as well. You are right, other countries that don't give homework are actually AHEAD of us academically.........something to think about. Hopefully one day the schools will get on board and STOP the madness!!!

I totally agree! The stress and anxiety of homework is overwhelming! I have 3-4 essays due this week, and doing all of them at home with a limited amount of time stresses me out to the point that I don't want to do it, but if I don't I fall behind, and if I do, I'm super stressed for how ever long it takes to complete the paper

Homework keeps me so busy when I don't understand it, or even when I get more than 3 papers for homework. It sucks and is pointless. They say homework is to test us to see if we remember the class work, but the thing is that they test us everyday by giving us class work soooo... Bye homework

Send it to teachers, show parents, pass it to peers. Spread it! Homework can be dangerous to a students mental health, and should not breach the separation from focused school work in school and the relaxation and take in of knowledge at home.
